**About the Organisation**

Our vision is that everyone with a neurological condition in The Lothians has the support to live their best life.

The charity was created in 1984 by and for people with Multiple Sclerosis to provide them with specialist physiotherapy and oxygen therapy, allowing them to improve their quality of life. Over time, the charity has developed and evolved into a community, the Compass Therapy Support Community that offers more than just therapies. The same supportive spirit established in 1984 as the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, still exists today.

Our clients have a wide range of neurological conditions, including MS, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, MND, migraine/cluster headaches and many more. We are also supporting a growing number of people with long-Covid which is increasingly recognised as a neurological condition with multiple symptoms.

A neurological condition affects the brain, spine and/or nerves. It can impact anyone at any age and symptoms can include difficulty with walking, balance or coordination; muscle weakness; fatigue; bladder or bowel dysfunction; ‘brain fog’ and poor mental health.

We work with each client’s individual challenges and symptoms, rather than focusing on their particular condition and our support is life-long, rather than time-limited, recognising that symptoms and challenges for each person will change over time.
