**Salary: FC3 £22,525.71 - £23,633.23 (50% of salary in year one rising to 80% of salary in year two.)**

**Job Details**

Fife Council is committed to creating employment and training opportunities for the young people of Fife.

A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification. The training can be both on and off-the-job, which means Modern Apprentices (MAs) learn the right mix of skills, abilities and knowledge while working towards achieving an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

The apprentice will work, under supervision, to provide an efficient business support service in a professional manner in line with business requirements

Under supervision providing a comprehensive business support service by using computer systems and processes to support service delivery including:
Data/word processing using Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. generating letters and responses for signature and/or issue, and spreadsheets, checking quality of output and advising on layout and presentation if required

Scheduling meetings and appointments and taking notes of meetings

Assisting in arrangement and organisation of diary appointments etc.

Financial transactions using the Council’s financial systems

Dealing appropriately with internal/external customer queries e.g. providing routine information from computerised information systems. Where possible respond directly to enquiries from other Services or contacts, if unable to resolve pass enquiry to relevant member of staff

**The Person**

These vacancies are restricted to applicants who currently live in Fife. You must also be aged between 16 and 24 and therefore you must not have attained the age of 25 before your start date as a Modern Apprentice.

You should have a minimum 3 Standard Grades at general level 3/4, to include English and Maths OR 3 Intermediate 1’s to include English and Maths OR equivalent Core Skills at SCQF level 4 OR 3 National 4s, to include English and Maths.

**Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.**
