LF Pearce & Son is a family run business who have diversified from solely farming into grain storage & services, running bulk haulage lorries and groundwork contractors. We are on the lookout for someone to help in and around our yard and at harvest and peak times to help in our 10,000T capacity grain store too.

Yard duties to include:

- Bagging & loading of aggregate
- General loading of trailers & unloading of deliveries
- Keeping the yard tidy and materials put away
- General maintenance on plant machinery. Including cleaning of groundwork plant machinery. Mechanical knowledge preferred but not essential.
- Adhoc errands
- Pest control checks between monthly contracted visits

Grain store duties to include:

- Weighing in and out, and sampling lorries for the grainstore
- Testing of commodities and logging data onto grain store computer software
- Operating all grain store plant machinery such as intake pits, cleaners, driers and the colour sorter
- Out loading lorries from grain in store using a telescopic loader
- Cleaning the plant machinery room and grain stores throughout the year

This job requires good communication and attention to detail is key. The ability to remain calm and focused under any pressure and good basic computer skills are required. They will be keen to learn new processes and be a team player.

During harvest and other peak times, a willingness to work longer hours would be needed. During quiet periods, there would be the opportunity to either be flexible with their hours and days, or to labour with our groundwork team. We are looking for someone who is proactive, find solutions to potential problems and who will be willing to find themeselves a job if there is any spare time within the working day.

**Salary**: £13.50-£15.50 per hour
