A part time Occupational Therapy Advanced Practitioner (Band 7) post is being introduced in the Integrated Rehabilitation Teams (IRT) in North Lanarkshire. The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership for an integrated team comprising of an Occupational Therapist employed by either NHS Lanarkshire or North Lanarkshire Council (NLC), Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Senior Healthcare Support Workers and Occupational Therapy Assistants (NLC).

As part of a newly formed network of Occupational Therapy Advanced Practitioners within IRT, the post holder will:

- work as part of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team to deliver the best standard of care to a highly complex caseload.
- take a lead role in the delivery and development of highly specialist Occupational Therapy services within the Integrated Rehabilitation Teams in collaboration with existing NLC Occupational Therapy Senior Practitioners.
- lead on and nurture staff development through the implementation of an enhanced clinical supervision structure for NHS staff as well as educate and share expert clinical knowledge within IRT, in collaboration with the wider network of OT Advanced Practitioners, across Occupational Therapy services in Lanarkshire.
- lead on Practice Education including supporting new models of Practice Based learning.
- lead on clinical audit and quality improvement projects, and facilitate best practice and research activity across the service.
- have accountability for standards of care and deliver these within the context of clinical governance to ensure the highest standards of clinical intervention.
- use clinical expertise and initiatives to support waiting list management, in partnership with Team Leaders and others.

The post holder should have experience of community working and a breadth of specialist/advanced Occupational Therapy experience, knowledge and skills to support the assessment and rehabilitation process. The post holder will also require leadership and service improvement experience. As this is a community post, applicants should be a car driver with access to a car.
