**Salary: £14,860.00 per annum.**

**Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire (WD3 9XL).**

**Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time, working 22 hours a week, working two 11-hour shifts (Some daytime working will be required occasionally)**

**Interviews: Interviews will be held the first week in January***

**A bit about the role**

Short Breaks at West Hyde is a provision for children and young people with a wide variety of additional needs including learning difficulties, complex behaviour and complex health needs, between the ages of 5 and 18 years old. The primary aim is for those who visit to have fun, enjoy themselves and make friends in a safe environment where they feel comfortable and valued whilst we offer them the same opportunities that other children their age may have.

West Hyde has an Ofsted rating of ‘Good' and is always striving for ‘Outstanding'.

You will build bonds with children and support them with day-to-day personal needs and promoting their independence. Working within a team you will help to maintain our fun and nurturing environment.

**How you'll help to create brighter futures**:
We are dedicated to safeguarding and supporting children and young people, ensuring they receive the loving care and support they need to thrive. You will support by:

- Supporting children to achieve positive outcomes for their future.
- Responsible for shift leading.
- Providing a safe environment for them to enjoy time with their friends.
- Giving families the break, they need to continue supporting their amazing children.
- Assisting the children in all aspects of their care to support their health and wellbeing.
- Supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures.
- Developing and evaluating care plans and risk assessments.

**Let's talk about you.**
- Ideally, a level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Experience in line managing others or the willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience working within a care environment preferably working with children and young people with disabilities, their families and carers.
- Writing clear and concise notes, you will require excellent communication skills for this.
- Willingness to develop within the role by attending external or online training courses.
- Ability to demonstrate a solution focused approach and address problems individually or within a team.
