**Company Archivist**

**Dufftown**

**The Role**

The Company Archivist is responsible for assembling, cataloguing, preserving, digitising, and securing valuable collections of historical company and family artifacts.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensures the security of the company and family archives in Dufftown and other sites as appropriate
- Develops and implements the digitisation strategy for artifacts to make them accessible to family, business and potential external users
- Oversees the safe transport and return of artifacts on loan
- Responsible for the preservation of historical artifacts with consideration to their environment and protection from environmental impacts.
- Manages the Digital Archive team of Digital Co-ordinators
- Ensures compliance with archive regulatory requirements and ISAD standards at all times.
- Ensures all artifacts are catalogued
- Collaborates with the wider GTS Product team to ensure data quality, hygiene and security is maintained at all times.
- Liaises with the current Artist-in-residence

**Requirements**:

- Relevant degree level education in Archiving and Records Management or other relevant studies (i.e. History, Library Studies, etc)
- Knowledge of archival theory, standards, and best practices, and experience working with archival materials and collections.
- Familiarity with cataloguing and metadata standards, and experience using cataloguing and data management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, including scholars, researchers, and members of the public.
- Familiarity with preservation and conservation principles and practices, including digitization and digital preservation
- Member of the Scottish Council of Archives or other relevant bodies would be preferred.
