The position is offered initially on a 6 month fixed term with the hope of an extension or potentialy permanent position being created.

The role of the post holder will be to ensure engagement and support for people affected by short and long term mental health ill health, continue the development of the support groups and enable service users to develop whilst on their journey of recovery.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Help members to identify their strengths, set goals and work towards achieving their potential through a range of activities including creative therapies, cooking, gardening project and music support group.
- Where possible support members to access training, volunteering and other opportunities within or external to VOCM
- To support new members to attend other activities at Mahoneys
- To work jointly with staff and volunteers in the Organisation to achieve these aims
- Support and help organise the monthly diary of activities for the support groups.
- Help members to decide on and support involvement in group sessions.
- To encourage people who have become socially isolated, because of their illness, to socialise with others in a safe, friendly and non-judgemental environment
- To provide cover for other paid staff and volunteers in their absence and to work alongside and to ensure adequate cover is provided.
- Willingness to undertake work in various groups throughout Denbighshire to ensure services can be run smoothly throughout the organisation.
- Identify and link members with existing community initiatives
- To attend Outreach and community events This may include attendance at community events where the organisation wishes to have a presence (DORIS)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: From £11.18 per hour
