Zenith People are working with our client and are recruiting for an experienced Production Engineer on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role is to provide engineering support to production and management whilst ensuring that all engineering processes are available to meet customer & production requirements in a cost effective and timely manner.

**Areas of Responsibility**:

- Design and implementation of moderate modification of machines, designing jigs and tooling to optimise output and permit correct quality of product.
- Set and control budgets spend to ensure all necessary resources are available to achieve business targets.
- Leading processes and delivering plant projects such as new line or new product introductions.
- Day to day directing of Service group Technicians, ensuring best use of resource. Provide shop floor technical support, beyond Technician engineer capability to maintain process conformance and capacity.
- Create quality documentation to ensure quality systems are upheld, conducting major quality investigations implementing effective countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Set TPM schedules/tasks to enable PM members to carry out TPM to maintain machine stability and performance reporting and displaying TPM performance. Upkeep of process/machine history by using Maintenance Systems.
- Produce standard operating procedures in conjunction with any installation and commissioning of new processes.
- Effectively communicate with the team and other functions to ensure understanding of business / department targets and objectives, challenging performance measurement where appropriate initiating and delivering cost improvements to contribute to the efficiencyof the process.
- Ensure training needs are established in line with commissioning of machines/processes and carry out training of other personnel where appropriate to improve the overall capability of the business.

**Qualifications**:

- Appropriate qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC minimum).
- Recognised mechanical apprenticeship is advantageous.

**Experience, Knowledge, and Skills**:

- Experience of working within a medium sized manufacturing organisation (small/medium specialist batch production).
- Experience in major overhaul / repair techniques would be advantageous.
- IT skills including all MS office and engineering related software (CAD).
- Sound knowledge of grinding manufacturing techniques.
- Fault finding/route cause analysis skills.
- Project management skills.
