We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic, highly motivated Band 3 Healthcare Assistants in our Paediatric Ambulatory unit who can deliver exceptional levels of care alongside a commitment to enhancing your personal and professional development.
You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with children and their families. We provide extensive staff support and value staff for the individual qualities that they can bring to our service. We understand that changing jobs or embarking on your career can be daunting, but we will support you all the way.
- Mathematics and English GCSE pass
- QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- The Care Certificate
- A minimum of one year experience within Childrens Services

Band 3 HCA for Children & Young People's Ambulatory Care Unit - Blue Sky Centre
St Georges Children's and young persons ambulatory care unit has been open for nearly 5 years. Blue Sky Centre is based in the Paediatric unit and works closely with the Children's Emergency Department. The unit takes referrals from local GP's, community midwives and relieves flow in Children's ED. The service operates from 07.30am - 08.00pm seven days a week and sees children and young people in our purpose built unit.
The unit is fully staffed by Paediatric Consultants and Nurses and has a dedicated pharmacy service. BSC treats Children and young people aged 0 - 18 years with a wide range of presentations that do not require inpatient or emergency care.
We are looking for a senior HCA to be part of this service. Working together with the consultant team and senior nursing team you will assist with the day to day running of the unit.
You will have proven experience in an acute paediatric setting and strong clinical skills.

Job Summary
To provide effective, evidence based general and specific care for paediatric patients and their families in the clinical speciality/area under the direct supervision of a registered children’s nurse.
To plan, organise and deliver clinical care as agreed with the supervising registered children’s nurse, in line with clinical governance and within agreed professional standards and guidelines.
To continue to develop and undertake a range of delegated tasks under the authority of, and in liaison with the registered children’s nurses.
To provide general and specific care as specified below for a client group, and be proficient and competent to work with staff from all professional disciplines.
