An exciting opportunity, for a 12-month secondment/ fixed term contract starting at the beginning of September 2023, has arisen in the Lung Cancer Service for a Band 7 faster diagnosis clinical nurse specialist. This role will both manage the faster diagnosis service as well as being part of the wider lung cancer nursing team during the current post holder's maternity leave.

We welcome band 6's looking for an opportunity to develop professionally.

The National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway (NOLCP) is a recommended pathway which sets tight timeframes for each stage of the pathway to improve lung cancer services. This new pre-diagnostic specialist nurse post at Kingston Hospital will support the implementation of the NOLCP, ensuring each stage of the pathway happens quickly, communication with patients is effective and the whole lung team works together in a co-ordinated, flexible way focusing on the patient journey.

The pre-diagnostic specialist nurse will provide help, advice and support to patients, their families and carers and act as an advocate by providing information which leads to informing patient choice.Communication with MDT members, GP’s and palliative care services is an essential part of the post.
