**About the Practice**

We are a semi-rural Dispensing Practice with a friendly supportive team of Administrators, Practice Nurses, HCAs, GPs, and Dispensers. We achieve high QoF and CQC success, with a focus on patient centred care and providing our ‘family doctor’ service to our whole community.

We are at a point in our development where we need additional Front of House Dispensing support to enable us to continue this quality service but also to enable us to drive developments across the practice.

**Post Overview And Main Aspects of the Post**

The general purpose of the post, includes, but is not limited to:

- To provide first point of contact for the Dispensary and the Practice
- To work as part of the Dispensary Team to provide full Front of House activities (and Dispensary activities over time) including being a key source of cover for holidays and sickness within the team.
- To offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.
- To be a key point of contact for enquiries from patients, external organisations, third parties etc

**About You**
- The stamina, patience and good sense of humour to succeed in working in a very supportive but very busy GP Surgery environment
- The ability to work well under pressure as part of a rewarding but highly demanding role
- Experience in patient facing first contact role
- Willingness and drive to develop this new post, in partnership with the practice team - including gaining experience and knowledge suitable to the post
- Problem solving, proactive approach to the role
- Significantly flexible, team working approach
- Good organisational skills
- Kind and patient approach with patients, colleagues and visitors
- Experience of dealing with the public and patients and to handle difficult / challenging situations in calm, measured professional manner

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or or equivalent Key Skills qualifications
- Good IT / computer skills including the use of MS Office and Outlook
- Experience of using EMIS Clinical System

**Practical Details for the Post**:

- Full Time 8.00 to 6.00 (with 1 hour lunch Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.00 - 12.30 Wednesday
- 25 days FTE Annual Leave per year + 8 days Statutory Leave Days (pro rata)
- Starting Hourly Rate - will be commensurate with experience
- Make significant contribution to the team’s sickness and holiday cover rota - which will require flexibility in hours/rota pattern across the week.
- Eligible for NHS Pension Scheme
