**Handyperson / Maintenance**

An opportunity has arisen a hard-working individual to join our friendly team as a handyperson / general maintenance worker.

Orchard House is a 31-bed Residential Care Home in Barton Seagrave, providing care for clients who are elderly, many with dementia. We are passionate about providing high-quality care in a home from home environment.

**About you**:

- Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines
- Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers
- Being resourceful and self-motivated
- Physically strong - capable of working with machinery or moving heavy equipment
- Being flexible
- Able to resolve complaints quickly and efficiently
- Able to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills

**About the role**:
As a maintenance worker, you will play an important role within our team, helping us deliver high standards of care to our residents in a safe, well-maintained and well-presented environment. This is a varied role however the main duties will include:

- Changing light bulbs and ensuring other fixtures and fittings are in good working order
- Minor plumbing and carpentry
- Clearing or cleaning general areas
- Shifting furniture or equipment
- Assembling furniture or equipment
- Garden/landscape installation and maintenance
- General building maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Clearing gutters
- Carrying out audits as per a comprehensive programme
- Maintaining property exterior through the different seasons
- Working on-call to cover emergency maintenance issues.

**Start Date**
- Receipt of satisfactory references
- Receipt of evidence of completed training (if appropriate)
- Satisfactory DBS checks
- Completion of induction training

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour
