**Accounting Officer (12 month fixed term contract)**

**Location: Sittingbourne, Kent**

**Salary: Dependent on skill set and experience, to £30k + Benefits (holiday, pension, Perkbox membership, Udemy business access, Life assurance and long term sick scheme, Cycle to work scheme, free use of onsite swimming pool)**

Sota Solutions is a market-leading IT solutions provider specialising in platform hosting, network infrastructure, data centre and business continuity services for small, medium and large enterprises, public sector organisations, as well as other service providers.

Established for over 30 years with 70 staff, a £10m turnover and strong balance sheet, the company’s facilities include two data centres, a disaster recovery suite, a network operations centre, all located in a highly secure twenty-five acre science park campus in Kent. Sota has a record of sustained growth and is currently experiencing further expansion.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic finance professional ideally currently in an Accountant, Finance Officer, Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role looking to further their career and join an established and growing company.
- Assisting with monthly Balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to:

- Prepayments
- Deferred Income
- Fixed Assets
- Accruals
- Producing month-end journals in relation to the above
- Assisting with lots of analytical information requests (internal & external)
- Assisting with Sales & Purchase ledger tasks
- Assisting with and maintaining cash flow forecasts
- Performing root cause analysis for variances and provide month-end commentary
- Excellent attention to detail, working to very high standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated, with a high level of enthusiasm and energy
- Able to work under pressure, coupled with a strong work ethic
- Strives for continuous improvement and technical excellence in all activities
- A can-do attitude and be well organised
- A calm and patient manner, ability to show empathy but be professional and firm
- Previous relevant experience (3+ years) in a relevant finance role
- AAT qualified or equivalent, ideally working towards CIMA or ACMA

Desirable qualifications / experience:

- Experience of working in an IT MSP environment hugely advantageous
- Intermediate or Advanced Excel
- Experience with dealing with external stakeholders or investors
