We are working closely alongside one of the **major childrens trust in Birmingham** to assist with the appointment of a **Family Support Worker**, on a **3-month contract**, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

**Summary**:
An energetic family support worker for our safeguarding team who wants to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children. You must be a car driver. You will not hold any cases but will be expected to offer family support to families and will manage your own diary. Some experience of family support or a contact worker role is required. You must be confident in your approach and be able to work alongside our social workers. You must be a passionate, motivated and a committed to the job. You will be someone who is able to build effective relationships with social workers and the families, good timekeeping, good communication skills and be willing to support families to better their parenting skills. You must be able to work independently and be a key team player. Some experience of safegaurding issues is required.

**Team**

You will be working alongside 7 social workers, 1 assessment worker, a senior social work assistant (who supports the team) and a part time contact worker. We are a very strong and valuable team in the city. Alongside regular supervision, access to training and shared learning, mental health and well-being support is avaliable.

**Essential**
- Educated to GCSE standard and hold an NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a related field.
- Experience of delivering evidence based interventions with children, young people and their families.
- Experience of completing an assessment of a child’s needs that identifies needs and informs Intervention.
- Experience of working in partnership with key statutory and non-statutory stakeholders.

**Skills & Ability**
- Able to identify issues that require escalation to line Right Help Right Time to manager and work within policies and procedures that promote and safeguard the welfare of families.
- Ability to effectively plan, chair meetings and manage a diverse workload to ensure that professional standards are consistently met
- Ability to analyse information to identify strengths and weaknesses and to develop an appropriate support plan.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an enhanced DBS.

**Salary**: £12.00-£13.00 per hour
