We in the Climate & Environment Practice are looking for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to work on these tasks and on the delivery of our strategy for reducing the Sopra Steria Group’s environmental footprint.

Sopra Steria’s Climate & Environment Practice is responsible for the Group’s reporting of its environmental performance, particularly in its management of its greenhouse gas emissions. To do this it operates and oversees the processes for gathering dataabout the consumption of energy and water and the generation of waste in all the regions and countries of the world in which the Group operates, and the production of reports from those data. The Group’s Universal Reference Document (Annual Report) uses suchreports, but increasingly we also deliver to clients reports of the environmental footprint of the services that we deliver to them. We also deliver consulting assignments in setting up the processes and tools for measuring environmental impact - particularlygreenhouse gas emissions - and defining a strategy for mitigating them.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Operating, maintaining and developing processes and tools for gathering data about the consumption of resources such as energy and water and the generation of waste by the Sopra Steria Group worldwide, and for calculating emissions of greenhouse gases
- Delivering consultancy services in the measurement, reporting and management of environmental impacts, especially greenhouse gas emissions
- Maintaining, training and supporting the network of country contacts in the Sopra Steria Group responsible for gathering and managing data about consumption for their countries
- Managing a small team responsible for recording data for some countries
- Operating, maintaining and developing the processes and tools for reporting environmental impacts, particularly greenhouse gas emissions
- Producing reports of the environmental footprint of the Sopra Steria Group, its presence in individual countries and of its services to individual clients
- Researching emerging sustainability issues, trends and requirements, and supporting the development of new opportunities, services and solutions

**What you’ll bring**:

- Degree level education or equivalent, typically in Science or Engineering
- Demonstrable experience in the field of environmental sustainability - particularly climate-related matters - from a consultancy or a customer-facing role
- Experience in reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under the GHG Protocol and standards such as ISO 14064, ISAE 3000, etc., and understanding of lifecycle emissions and other environmental impacts
- Good knowledge of the calculation of supply chain emissions
- Strong skills in numerical analysis and data management in MS Excel or similar
- Good skills in communications, both written and spoken
- Good skills in engaging and managing people, with the ability not only to train and manage others but also to network and to engage others in sustainability issues
- Proven ability to take the initiative, solve problems and work independently

**It would be great if you had**:

- Experience in improving the environmental performance of IT services
- Experience of engaging suppliers in managing their environmental impacts
