**About the role**

You’ll join the team that are responsible for operating and maintaining our Wastewater service to our customers in the Consett area. You’ll be providing a wastewater treatment service that protects and enhances the environment, whilst also improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of the people and wildlife is invaluable.

Working as part of a team you will be responsible for operating and controlling a number of wastewater treatment works as well as pumping stations within the wider sewerage network. Within this role you will conduct tasks in all conditions to ensure these assets operate correctly and will undertake fault-finding investigations when issues are found. Full training will be provided to undertake the various technical aspects of this role.

**About you**

Our Wastewater Treatment Operatives carry out regular analysis of water quality so we are looking for people who are confident handling chemicals and interpreting data. No two days are the same - you will be someone who is happy working in a team or alone with mínimal supervision and flexible enough to meet a varied workload, but we’ll be providing you with full training to get you up to speed with our processes.

You’ll be highly motivated, demonstrating flexibility with excellent interpersonal skills and that can work efficiently both alone and with others. We’re looking for you to be able to understand, analyse and interpret data to resolve problems and identify solutions to resolve customer issues and optimise plant, assets and processes.

You don’t need to have experience in operating and maintaining wastewater assets, but it would be great if you have proven pragmatic problem solving abilities and a good understanding of Northumbrian Water’s objectives and ways of working.
