**Kitchen Assistant - Weekend**

**Salary: £10.90 per hour**

**Type: Permanent, Part time (20 hours per week)**

**Location: Beechwood Court, Sunbury-on-Thames, **TW16 7RL**

**About the role**

We’re searching for a** Kitchen Assistant** to join our friendly and hard-working team at A2Dominion.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Support Team within our Retirement Living Schemes to provide a comprehensive catering service, leading the service at weekends within budget to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals to clients living in sheltered accommodation and/or the wider community.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Work alongside the chef to provide home cooked meals to 40 residents in our retirement living schemes in Sunbury on Thames
- Preparation of food and cleaning of kitchen
- Food service operative, preparing packed teas and service meals to residents
- Meeting Company and Environmental Health Standards.
- Taking Responsibility for particular dietary and cultural needs.
- Complete all menu tick sheets, cleaning records and handover sheets daily, recording meals sold and reporting resident feedback to manager.
- Carry out Health & Safety & Food Hygiene standards checks as directed by A2Dominion Catering Standards and that all practices meet the statutory regulations
- Support Manager in preparing and responding to inspections and audits by external authorities and other bodies and fulfilling reporting requirements.
- Take responsibility for acting up as chef as required following induction, ability to take responsibility for restaurant front of house service delivery and maintain the standards set by the Catering Manager

**More about you**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage with elderly vulnerable customers and their families
- IT Literate
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- You will need to have a ‘can-do’ attitude, at times rolling up your sleeves to help your team to get stuff done. No two days are the same in supported housing, and flexibility is the key
- You must have a full driving licence, together with a car available and insured for business purposes. Where you need to use this for business travel, mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile.
- You should be able and willing to work flexibly across similar Care & Support services (transport costs reimbursed) in support of colleagues elsewhere - remember, this works both ways
