**Job Title: Product Development Technologist**

**Location: Peterlee**

**Salary: £30,000 - £40,000**

**Company Overview**

We are working with a global, well established food manufacture in their search for a Product Development Technologist.

Working as part of the UK NPD team you will support the delivery of new business opportunities and cost saving initiatives for new trends, flavours and ingredients.
- Working with the wider NPD team, ensure all products are operationally robust and in line with set waste levels and target costs.
- Develop new products, and take product ideation from concept to launch, checking internal systems work correctly and new products are developed in line with company policies.
- Create and develop new and existing recipes in the test/development kitchen for customer sample.
- Support factory trials, capture relevant data and process settings to ensure development activities are as efficient as possible.
- Complete trial forms ensuring all data captured is documented.
- Record all associated trial and ingredient costs and share with NPD Project Manager and Finance.
- Create quality documents so new products can be launched to the expected standard, on time and to target costs.

**Skills & Experience**
- Food Science qualification or considerable experience in innovation / food manufacturing.
- Experience of researching market trends and developing new ingredients in the kitchen and factory.
- Capable of working with the wider NPD team and numerous internal stakeholders along with external suppliers/customers.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing is desirable.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
