Cad Technician

My client is a leading global design and manufacturing company that supports clients in a range of industries including O&G, Marine and Renewables. They are currently recruiting an experienced CAD Technician for their site in Livingston.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the primary responsibility of the role is to support in the mechanical design and development of a variety of products for the commercial market.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create / review 3D Inventor models, 2D Auto Cad drawings and Bills of Material for new built components / equipment
- Create / review 2D or 3D drawings out of re-engineering process for the remanufacturing of items, manufacture of Test fixtures
- Generate, review and maintain design calculations/packages
- Accept Engineering requests / assignments from Project Engineers, attend project briefing / kick-off meeting related to the assignments, collect information
- Liaise with customer / sales for additional information related to Engineering
- Prepare draft copy of model or drawing for initial review
- Amend drawings in response to feedback on equipment design or changes to work scope
- Will review impact of changes and process revisions through MasterControl Advanced Packet
- Liaise with Customer / 3rd Party / design house, where required, regards approval of drawings, design documents / packages
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by Projects/ Engineering Manager

**Experience**:

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Auto CAD is required
- Experience in Solid works / Autodesk Inventor 3D software is mandatory
- 3 - 5 years of experience in engineering design environment and with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly & testing
