**Property Inspector**

Due to expansion of projects within our varied portfolio, we are looking for a skilled and dynamic individual to join our well-established, family-owned property investment company.

This role would be ideal for someone who has previous experience in building construction, surveying, project management, or the appraisal of properties and/or works.

**Who we are looking for**:
An organised and motivated team player, with an eye for detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Managing projects to convert or ameliorate properties, including historic and vernacular buildings as well as those in our core residential and commercial portfolio
- Completing schedules of works for properties requiring construction based intervention
- Providing reports to assist with schedules of works and planning enquiries as necessary, liaising with local authorities and other peers on the same
- Ensuring the quality of works carried out meet company and all relevant statutory standards
- Advising on, instructing and inspecting completion of remedial works carried out on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties
- Assisting the team with the planning of kitchens, bathrooms and property alterations or conversions
- Recruiting contractors and tradesmen, managing their works and maintaining good relationships with them and suppliers
- Carrying out inspections on commercial properties and issuing notices to repair/Schedules of Dilapidations
- Liaising with external bodies and authorities in relation to works
- Working within current legislation and guidelines which pertain to property repairs
- Advising on costs of works and materials being mindful of company budgets and value
- Maintaining accurate records on all company systems and any legally required documentation as necessary
- Have extensive experience in property construction, for example through direct construction, surveying, project management or similar
- Have a good working knowledge of the technicalities of buildings and works
- Be able to quantify labour and material costs on remedial and amelioration works
- Be able to manage contractors in a ‘hands on’ manner, including on site
- Be able to understand and interpret plans, and draw them up where required
- Have a thorough understanding of current market trends for properties and how their value is affected by condition
- Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Be honest and hard-working
- Be computer literate
- Have a full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential)
