Trainee Estimator

Head office of a national fencing contractor seeks Trainee Estimator willing to work towards a formal qualification and progress their career within the construction industry.

Littlewood Fencing is the leading fencing contractor in the UK, operating from its Head Office in Battle, East Sussex and with regional offices in Newport, South Wales and Birmingham. The company supplies and installs fencing, hoarding, vehicle restraint barriers and environmental barriers in the highway, rail, construction and utilities sectors. We work on some of the country’s largest construction projects, including HS2 & Thames Tideway.

This is an exciting and progressive position, suited to an enthusiastic individual. Excellent communication and skills with an attention to detail are a must have for this role.

Working hours - 8am till 5pm, 42.5 hours per week

**Key responsibilities**
- Undertaking take offs of drawings & compiling bill of quantities.
- Contacting suppliers for estimates.
- Producing price sheets & quotations to submit tenders to clients.
- Updating tender register.
- Client tender visits and follow up calls.
- Attending pre & post contract client meetings.

**Essential qualifications & skills.**
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English.
- Computer Literacy with experience of Microsoft Office.
- Technical skills in organising, planning & prioritising.
- Good time management and ability to multi-task.
- Good communication skills and team player.
