**About the role**:
As a Senior International Compliance Officer, you will deliver a measurably valuable service to students, and a high standard of supporting administrative functions, through the provision of information, advice and guidance services as part of the International Student Hub, with specialism in immigration compliance and United States Federal Aid. You will support University staff with complex queries that relate to non-UK students. You will have responsibility for the University’s engagement monitoring of international students, making direct interventions with students where required.

You will have a knowledge of issues related to UKVI policy, and experience of operationalising UKVI policy within a customer and service setting.

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Responsible for the provision of specialist support, information and advice service for international students, post arrival, during enrolment, and during their studies at the University, including referral to other internal or external support, information and advice services where appropriate.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the team. Ensuring that all services supported by the team are delivered on time, accurate, effective, and professional, through staff development and effective utilisation of resource. Using initiative to deal appropriately with changing priorities and situation.
- Conduct research and produce briefing papers for the International Compliance Manager on changes to UK immigration regulations, making suggestions for strategies and systems, based on best practice, that allow the University to comply with any changes.
- Responsible for ensuring that the team is managing casework effectively, in compliance with legal requirements and in line with the University’s own procedures for case management and reporting, in accordance with SLAs. Acts as the point of escalation for more complex case work queries.
- To act at as a principal contact for the Home Office, UKVI and Federal Loans. Support with any compliance visits and/or audits for external bodies under the remit of the post. Also responsible for regular reporting on withdrawals and compliance issues to UKVI.
- Responsible for ensuring that attendance monitoring is effective for none-UK students in order to maximise retention whilst ensuring compliance with UKVI directives. Making direct interventions where required and holding formal interviews with students at risk.
- Responsible for ensuring that the most effective processes and communications are in place to support efficient and timely enrolment within the specified timeframes.
- Responsible for liaison with external bodies, along with the continuous research of Regulatory bodies to ensure that knowledge and processes are fit for purpose to maintain compliance.
- To work with the International Compliance Manager and other University colleagues to plan and organise international events as and when required. To analyse the impact of the events and feed insights into future planning. To assist with Open Days and special events either in an office-based role or as part of the activity itself.
- Design and develop workshops for groups of students and supporting the delivery of these when required.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships within The Registry, and the wider University and other HEI’s to help facilitate collaborative working. This includes working closely with stakeholder groups to ensure expectations are effectively managed.
- Responsible for the production, maintenance, and analysis of relevant statistical information as required, in line with university procedures. To support the data quality processes to prevent reoccurrence/strengthen data sets in accordance with the outlined strategy. Using quantitative and analytic abilities to report &/or interrogate data.
- Ensure that documentation of all key policies, procedures and standards relating to the team are available, regularly reviewed and updated. Responsible for embedding new/revised processes into functional areas.
