Cover Supervisor

Syncord Education are working in partnership with a number of secondary schools in the Sheffield area to recruit Cover Supervisors for day to day and long term absences.

**Duties**:

- Provide supervision and support to students in the absence of regular teachers
- Follow lesson plans and ensure that students are engaged in meaningful learning activities
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist students with their academic work, providing guidance and support as needed
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment for students with developmental disabilities, including autism
- Utilize creative writing and literacy education techniques to enhance student learning
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to address individual student needs
- Provide mentoring and guidance to students, promoting their personal and academic growth

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and approaches
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development

- Sheffield: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
