**What will your day-to-day activities as a Geotechnical Engineer include?**

The role, based locally to Stourbridge, will expect you to be responsible for supporting the design delivery of existing projects. These projects typically include the inspection and assessment of embankments, cuttings, retaining walls, culverts, and drainageassets predominantly within the rail network. You will also be responsible for the consideration of options for remedial or upgrading works and the design and specification of practical solutions. This role is likely to include earthwork, foundation and drainagedesigns including the remediation of slopes, retaining structures, soil nails, foundation designs, temporary works design for plant access, and drainage improvement works.

**What will you need to be considered for this opportunity?**
- Bachelor’s Degree and Masters/MEng in geotechnical/civils discipline
- 2+ years relevant experience
- Experience in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and designers risk assessments
- Good understanding of ground investigation methods and interpretation of ground investigation results
- Ability to identify and assess defects/instability features in earthworks, retaining walls and drainage systems
- Detailed knowledge of Eurocodes and current engineering codes of practice
- Effective written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail
- Knowledge of industry standard software (e.g., Slope/W, WALLAP, REPUTE, TEDDS, AutoCAD etc.)
- Good technical report writing skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and excellent planning and organisation skills
- Ability to work independently
