**Job Purpose**:
Innovation and creativity will drive your Strategic Leadership of our Living your Best Life team. The focus for this team is to develop and deliver a programme of high profile regional and national events, exhibitions, programmes and projects, that are ambitious and outward facing, whilst maximising the impact on our customers and visitors.
- Your leadership will ensure that the facilities within your remit are dynamic and vibrant, are respectful to their heritage and culture, whilst responding to modern trends and aspirations. Across the team, you will also develop sustainable pathways that encourage lifelong participation in leisure activities. As well as programming, you will be responsible for some of the most iconic venues within the East Ayrshire Leisure portfolio:

- Dean Castle - the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ recently restored and modernised 14th Century Castle which reopens to the public on the 1st April 2023 and houses a musical instrument collection of international significance
- Ayrshire Athletics Arena - Ayrshire’s leading facility that focuses on the development of Athletics from grass roots to elite sport and provides a home to regional and national events
- Annanhill Golf Course - Annanhill is one of the most popular municipal, parkland courses in the region, attracting visitors from all over.
- The Dick Institute - the largest art gallery and museum space out with Scotland’s cities, with a reputation for cross-cutting, thought provoking exhibitions and programmes
- Museums - including the Baird Institute and Burns House Museum which, provide a unique experience to celebrate East Ayrshire’s heritage
- Palace Theatre and Grand Hall - these venues have recently been awarded £25 million to upgrade to a regional concert hall and theatre, which will rival those in Glasgow and Edinburgh and bring high profile music, drama and dance to the people of Ayrshire and beyond
- Your key tasks and areas of responsibility are outlined below. You will;
1. Provide Strategic Leadership for the museum, performing arts, visual arts and sports development teams
2. Lead the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our Strategic Programme of competitions, events, concerts, festivals, performances, shows and exhibitions across all venues
3. Contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Programming Strategy including the establishment and delivery of a Youth Programming Group
4. Manage, monitor and review the Collection Development Strategy and Collection Procedural Manual to ensure robust guardianship of the significant East Ayrshire Museum Collection
5. Develop and support large capital investment and improvement projects to ensure the implementation of the East Ayrshire Leisure Facility Strategy
6. Work collaboratively with the East Ayrshire Strategic Leadership team to maximise the impact of our Strategic Vision and Corporate Delivery Plan on our staff teams, communities and partners
7. Seek and develop mutually beneficial partnerships that will have a positive impact on the lives of our local residents and visitors, including:

- Museum Galleries Scotland
- Creative Scotland
- SportScotland
- Scottish Athletics
- Scottish Golf
- Promoters and Artists
- Federation of Scottish Theatres
- VisitScotland
- Association of Ayrshire Visitor Attractions
- East Ayrshire Council
- Ayrshire College

£48303 - £52798 per annum

Hours of Work:
9am - 5pm (Monday - Thursday) 50 minute unpaid lunch break
9am - 4pm (Friday) 40 minute unpaid lunch break

East Ayrshire Leisure offers a blended model of working to office-based staff, empowering them with the flexibility to work in ways or locations that best suits their circumstances and the task at hand.

The workstyle for this post has been designated as ‘flexible’. This means that due to the nature of the role it is expected that 50-79% of the working week will be office-based. The successful applicant will be able to work at different/multiple locations, including working from home or travelling directly from home to external appointments approximately 1-2 days per week.
