**Job summary**
Our HR team operate a principle-led approach: we’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, who can adapt to meet business needs and who can work with pace, autonomy and assertiveness. You will be solution-focused, proactive and calm, able to manage competing priorities and your own time, whilst building trusted relationships with your stakeholders.
Our HR Advisors offer support and coaching to line managers and their teams on disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues, absence management, and on all “family friendly” matters. You will deal with complex ER casework and will have the opportunity to get involved in projects and change initiatives.
**What is the working practice for this role?**

You might have enjoyed working from home and would like to split your time between there and the office/ other work locations. Others may be eager to return to the office on a more regular basis. We believe that a regular level of in-person contact is an important way to build connections with your colleagues, enhancing knowledge and idea sharing and enabling all of us to benefit from the vibrant office culture Browne Jacobson has to offer.
Our expectation is that, **on average**, you’ll work from home for no more than three days per week, with the remainder of your time either spent with your colleagues in the office or working from other locations as work demands dictate, e.g. courts, client offices, conferences etc. This is an average expectation over time and we know that there will be variations from week to week. Equally, there will be individual circumstances in which a different pattern of work is needed, for example as an agreed reasonable adjustment for colleagues with a disability or long-term medical condition.

**Person specification**
**What technical skills are required for someone to be successful and enjoy the role?**
- CIPD full or part qualified
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Knowledge of current employment legislation and its practical implementation
- Able to manage own time and use initiative, including managing multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines

**Who would be a good fit for this role?**
As part of the HR team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience of working in an advisory capacity within a commercial environment
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time effectively
- Experience of building and maintaining effective professional relationships with colleagues
- Able to adopt a pragmatic approach, balancing the needs of the individual with those of the business
- Ability use own initiative and challenge the status quo
- Comfortable working under pressure at times and meeting deadlines
- A proactive, professional and flexible approach to work
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with a demonstrable understanding of the importance of business brand and culture
- A demonstrable understanding of key employment law and enthusiasm for your own personal development
