Help us make a difference as a **Bid Writer** within our **Specialist Services**business sector. The role will be home based with a requirement to occasionally travel to our offices in **Wednesbury**(WS10 7NR) or to meetings in **Nottingham**.

**A quick look at the role.**

The Bid Writer will produce compelling commercial proposals for the Specialist Services Commercial team across the business function while ensuring they are visually attractive and positioned in a way that showcases the wide range of benefits of the businessunit in relation to the bid.

The role will cover the Bid process for New Business while also identifying and implementing commercial opportunities to develop existing business.

The position will look to planning horizons which are typically short to medium term i.e - Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

The Bid Writer will be tenacious, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. A flexible approach is required as is the ability to work additional hours when deadlines for Bid submissions approaches.

The role will require some travel on a national basis, and this will be to Biffa locations across the UK.

The purpose of the Bid Writer is to produce professionally written content that clearly articulates Biffa's value proposition for our manufacturing and distribution portfolios to secure new contract wins. This role will work on strategic opportunities forBiffa and will include the following;
- Writing compelling proposals bespoke to each customer and tailored to specific questions asked
- You will be accountable for the overall content quality, whilst working to tight deadlines to deliver tenders and proposals
- Work alongside management and the project team to develop strategies for success
- Suggesting reference points, evidence and case study content requirements to enhance the quality of the response
- Re-write and edit proposals in line with responses from contributing business functions such as; H&S, HR, Operations, Sales, Finance, Commercial and Legal
- Take the lead in writing project summaries while working in partnership with customer representatives, to ensure we have all the required information to assist with the writing process

- An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Project Management experience
- Proficient in proofreading and editing
- English Degree, related writing qualification or professional writing background preferred
- APMP certification preferred
- Computer literate to a high level - comfortable using business software and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard.
- Full, clean and Valid UK Driving Licence.
