Caledonian Sleepers Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial and Procurement Assistant to join the team based in Glasgow.
Caledonian Sleeper is a heavily outsourced business and therefore the procurement of good and services is a key component of the ultimate delivery of service to our guests. Due to the number of supplier and partners, the business requires a driven individual to support the Commercial and Procurement team to ensure we are driving best value and ensuring a sustainable supply chain across multiple areas. This role will work across the business, supporting consistency in our approach to suppliers and compliance to the required standards.
**Main Accountabilities**:
- Support internal stakeholders to deliver against the objectives of the supplier management programme
- Support contract management life cycle and contract / supplier governance
- Compile and maintain department reporting supporting governance, risk management and assurance
- Coordinate the procurement process, including the creation of all relevant documentation, in line with relevant procurement policies
- Coordinate the Contract Management Sharepoint site, ensuring compliance to governance plan
- Support supplier managers on action closure and resolution from contract review meetings
- Set up and administer the centralised storage location for all contractual documentation, ensuring relevant document control procedures are followed
- Coordinate the cost efficiency programme, providing planning and overall support to the project lead
- Provide administrative and planning support to the Incident Care Team
- In conjunction with the Commercial & Procurement Director, set and deliver personal objectives to support the overall goals of the business
- This list of Key Accountabilities is not exhaustive and may change throughout the life of the role. This role may be required to support with other tasks deemed necessary to support the operation of the overall business.
**What you’ll need to do the role**:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and create solutions
- Able to balance business priorities to ensure delivery across a range of parallel workstreams
- Practical experience of using the full suite of Microsoft software packages in a business environment (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / SharePoint as a minimum requirement)
- Experience of formal procurement processes in desirable, but not essential
- Whilst this role will be predominantly based in our Glasgow office during standard office hours, as Caledonian Sleeper in an overnight operational business, there will be some requirements to be based in our operation to understand the relevant context of the business.**What we offer**
