**About The Role**

**The Role**

As a VTS Operator working within our Forth and Tay Navigation Service at the Port of Grangemouth,

your key responsibilities will include supporting the Duty Assistant Harbour Master in the operation of the Vessel Traffic System to ensure the safety and efficiency of all shipping movements.

This is a shore-based operation with working hours which allows for long periods of rostered time off between shift cycles as well as a competitive salary. You will work a 12 hour shift system covering 24 hours/365 days per year.

You will also have excellent communication, IT and planning skills and a good appreciation of the health and safety standards within a port environment.

Possession of a V103 Certificate would be advantageous however as VTS Operators must attain this qualification then any training required to achieve this will be supported by the Company.

A full driving licence is required.

**Required Criteria**
- Right to work in the UK
- Knowledge of Port Marine Safety Code
- Must have demonstrated marine experience
- a good appreciation of the health and safety standards within a port environment

**Desired Criteria**
- hold an Officer of the Watch certificate
- Possession of a V103 Certificate would be advantageous

**Skills Needed**

Risk Management, Situation Evaluation and Analysis, Ability to Identify and Anticipate needs
