This novel post provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of psychological care within the existing Staff Wellbeing Service based at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock. Funding is provided by NHS Education for Scotland through the Workforce Mental Health & Wellbeing programme.

The Staff Wellbeing Service is a multidisciplinary team, with individuals coming from Psychology, Staffcare, medical peer support, psychiatry, and administration. The remit of the service is to provide a tiered approach in supporting the mental wellbeing of the workforce within Ayrshire & Arran. The service is linked in to other staff support services and wellbeing projects in the health board and community partnerships. The MDT works across three hospital sites, each offering a wellbeing space for staff

The role will include direct assessment and formulation of complex mental health difficulties, delivery of time limited treatment interventions, liaison with multiple specialties in both the Acute and Community sectors, delivery of reflective practice programs and advice and consultation for non-psychology colleagues.

You will work under the supervision and management of the Consultant Psychologist as part of the Staff Wellbeing psychology team. This team is part of the wider NHS Ayrshire & Arran Psychological Services which comprises approximately 100 staff delivering area-wide psychological provision and governed through the Professional Lead for Psychological Services, two Heads of Specialty and Consultant Psychology Leads across the Psychological Specialties.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Psychological Services place a strong emphasis on governance and have a number of internal special interest and working groups. We provide excellent opportunities for CPD to support high-quality service delivery to patients and career development for our staff. The service has close links with the University of Glasgow, Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme and both the Adult and Child Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology Programmes at Dundee, Stirling and Edinburgh Universities.

You will also link into the NES Workforce Mental Health & Wellbeing programme which will provide direction to some elements of this work.

Given our pan-Ayrshire service across three Partnership areas, a car owner and driver is preferable.

This post is Fixed Term until 31 March 2024 and is offered at 22.5 hrs per week. Variation in these contractual hours may also be considered (upto 37.5hours)
