**APPRENTICE - EQUALITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION**

This exciting role will have you helping embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within our Council’s workforce.

The EDI programme is looking at ways to embed a culture of Diversity and Inclusion across the Council. For example, we are working on setting up and running Staff Networks, running events that focus on EDI, and working with partners to share knowledge.

The programme also involves ensuring we meet our legal Equality duties, which includes regular data collection and reporting, supporting EDI training across the Council, and writing EDI strategy and objectives.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and wants to make a difference. You will be passionate about improving inclusivity our practices. They will able to help with research to collate evidence, as well as contribute to reports

You will be supported by your manager as well as colleagues across the council.

This will be an interesting and very rewarding role.

We know that studying at college and university isn’t for everyone. An apprenticeship offers you a great opportunity to gain a qualification whilst earning a wage and without accumulating the debts associated with study. Real work experience is crucial as you start to build your career and by the end of your apprenticeship you will have at least two years’ of working in a nurturing environment. We also have an excellent record of retaining our apprentices beyond their apprenticeship course, securing permanent roles for those wanting to stay in the council.

Your starting salary will be £6.83 an hour in your first year. During your second year you will remain on this amount or the minimum wage for your age, whichever is higher. We can also offer you 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, an excellent pension and a number of discounts including gym membership.
