Mental Health Practitioner - Integrated Urgent Care - Gillingham
Are you looking for a new and challenging role?
Are you an enthusiastic and passionate Mental Health Professional looking to make a real difference to the lives of our patients?
Looking to take your career to the next level?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for self-motivated and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioners to join our expanding Clinical Assessment Team to work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver outstanding care to our patients and provide advice to the wider SECAmb team.
We would like to hear from Registered Mental Health Nurses and Social Workers with a strong background in supporting Mental Health.
Join South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and play a vital part in delivering our innovative Integrated Urgent Care service, spanning 999 and 111.
As the Clinical Assessment Service behind 111 and 111 Online expands, we are now recruiting registered Mental Health Nurses to our 111 Contact Centre based in Ashford and our 999 Emergency Operations Centres in Crawley and Coxheath.
These new Mental Health Practitioners will ensure we deliver expert support and advice to our patients over the phone, as well as offering clinical oversight, guidance, and leadership to our EOC and Contact Centre staff and frontline responding resources.
- Time or Part-Time Position.
As a Mental Health Practitioner you will undertake clinical assessments with patients using a clinical triage system.
- Harness your wealth of healthcare experience to assess and lead patients to the correct health outcome
- Work quickly and accurately with resilience under pressure
- Be available to work over the Christmas and Easter periods
- Use your excellent communication skills to provide advice to patients with the most appropriate advice and treatment, based on their assessment
- Record data quickly and accurately on the computer
Please be aware, your new role will begin in our new premises in Bredgar Road, Gillingham.
This new multi-purpose ambulance centre will comprise of a Make Ready Centre - a vehicle preparation system which sees specialist teams of staff employed to clean, restock and maintain the Trust’s fleet - and our 999 EOC East and NHS 111 IUC operations teams, currently based in Coxheath and Ashford, on the upper two floors of a modern, open-plan office complete with training, rest and wellbeing facilities.
This is a really positive, cooperative change whereby we will be operating Field Operations, 999 and our 111 services from the same building - we will be only the second Ambulance Trust in the country to unite both our 999 and 111 services in this way.
Your role will include clinical mentoring and supervision for urgent incoming mental health incidents, the provision of remote triage, as well as liaising with other mental health services to ensure the best possible onward care for patients presenting with unscheduled, urgent and emergency care needs.
You will be fully trained in the use of our Clinical Decision Support systems and NHS triage pathways. You will also have access to robust clinical supervision with oversight from our Consultant Mental Health Nurse and access to excellent training and progression opportunities.
Please note you will be working on a 6 week rota that will cover early, late and weekend shifts.
