Casual Cinema Projectionist

Ludlow Assembly Rooms is looking for casual technicians to join our busy technical team working on film screenings.

**This role is advertised on a casual basis.**

**The starting rate of pay is minimum wage**

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operate the Cinema projector and associated projection, access and sound equipment including digital and other related equipment as upgrades occur
- Ensure that films are presented to a professional quality standard
- Undertake a timely pre-film check on cinema equipment and the auditorium including masking, ensuring the screen is not obscured
- Ensure all equipment related to showing and storing film is stored correctly and kept in full working order
- Undertake general maintenance and cleaning of projection equipment
- Ensure the projection room is kept tidy, safe and orderly whilst the projectionist is on the premise

You will report to the Technical Manager and work with other technicians as part of a team; work alongside the wider staff and volunteer team; serve as an ambassador for the venue

The listed duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of technical activities to enable LAR to respond effectively to change in the external environment and resulting from organisational development.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Similar experience working as a projectionist in a performing arts venue/cinema
- Flexible approach to working time
- Ability to work unsociable hours including during the evening and at weekends
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support volunteers
- Knowledge/interest in operating sound and lighting equipment
- First Aid qualification

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract
