The Governing Body would like to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated individual with NVQ Level 3 Children’s Play Worker qualification to help in the Link Club at St Thomas’ CE Primary School.

You must enjoy working with primary age children, be self-motivated and possess the ability to provide creative play activities in a safe, caring environment. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to develop effective relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community and must be highly motivated and committed to providing the highest level of service.

**Duties will be varied & include**:

- Acting as an excellent role model for the children, encouraging them to develop their social skills
- Interacting with the children and using initiative to organise play activities to engage them
- Preparing and organising breakfasts/snacks
- Administering first aid
- Attending meetings and training
- Some cleaning and administrative tasks
- Having due regard for all school policies especially those relating to Safeguarding, Behaviour, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and confidentiality.

Morning hours will be from 8am to 9am; afternoon hours will be 3pm to 6pm, with a 2.30pm start on a Friday for cleaning.

The successful applicant will act as a responsible caring adult with the health, safety, and welfare of the children always in mind. Basic childcare and health & safety knowledge, along with recent successful experience of working with primary school aged children is essential. Ability to act as a Deputy preferable but not essential to the role.
