Our client is a leading exporter with a vast product range to businesses all over the world. Well established the company has expanded worldwide and exports to over 50 countries across 6 continents, providing their exports to global retailers.

We are now recruiting for a Freight forwarder to join the team based on the Wirral, although after successful completion of your probationary period the role is available to be hybrid from home 2 days a week.

Your role will involve the following..

Organising air, sea & road freight shipments

Negotiating freight rates

Quoting freight rates to clients &/or overseas agents / partners

Arranging customs clearance

Booking cargo space

Cutting & issuing airway bills (MAWB & HAWB)

Monitoring shipments

Keeping customers informed of progress

Key account management

Checking & approving suppliers invoices for payment, Freight Forwarder Requirements

Plan and co-ordinate air, sea & road freight shipments

Liaise with customers, suppliers and hauliers

Negotiate rates with airlines, shipping lines and other suppliers

Ensure cargo is shipped in accordance with customer requirements

Prepare documentation and ensure compliance with customs

regulations in country of final destination Freight Forwarder Skills

Customs clearance experience is essential

Good organisational skills

Strong communication skills

Ability to work under pressure.

Strong IT skills

Experience with freight software CargoWise would be beneficial but not essential Freight Forwarder Personal Traits

Attentive to detail

communication skills

Ability to work independently

Good team player

Knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms

Salary and Benefits

Salary £30,000 to £35,000

25 annual holiday upon completion of 5 years of continuous employment, 27 days upon completion of 10 years service.

One extra day off for your birthday upon completion of 12 months of continuous employment

3 additional days of annual leave between Christmas and New Year *
