**What is the Legal Industrial Placement Programme?**

We’re recruiting for students to join our Legal Placement Programme here at EDF.

Hinkley Point C has its own in-house legal team of highly experienced lawyers and was recently named In-House Team of the Year at the British Legal Awards. The Bristol team predominantly supports the construction and development on HPC and currently has 22 members including 14 qualified lawyers and is located in Bristol (Aztec West). The team work closely with several leading national and international law firms.

This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to gain desirable experience and to develop transferable skills whilst working in an in-house legal team on a major, high-profile international construction project. Industrial Placement students will have the opportunity to work alongside leading lawyers and external law firms and will be offered a number of development opportunities and access to tailored training.

You will be given significant responsibility during your placement and will be involved in a range of tasks.

**Training, development and support for you**:
Over this 12-month programme, you will have the opportunity to:

- Assist in the review, negotiation and drafting of a range of contracts, including attendance at meetings with commercial contract bidders and with external lawyers.
- Help with post-completion matters following signature of each contract.
- Work with the NNB Legal Team on the management of ‘live’ contracts and deal with legal queries and issues that arise.
- Help in the development of training courses appropriate for the business and for other lawyers as required.
- Undertake research, as directed, on legislative changes that may impact the project and the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your legal, commercial and people skills, whilst gaining broad exposure to our business.

Accordingly, the work undertaken by the NNB Legal Team comprises a real spectrum of legal disciplines including construction, commercial, corporate and governance, financing and investment, planning and regulatory consents, employment, property, intellectual property and IT law.

**Where you’ll work**:
This placement will be based in our Aztec West Office, Bristol, but we have a flexible working policy, so there is the option to work from home from time to time.

**What you’ll need to apply**:

- On track to achieve or will have already achieved a 2:2 undergraduate degree or 2:2 postgraduate qualification in law
- Be enthusiastic and have a diligent approach with a keen eye for detail.
- A willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills in different areas of law and provide support to other teams, as required.
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and work on several projects concurrently.
- Organised, proactive and methodical with confident communication skills.
- Able to use Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint to an intermediate level.
