**Base location - Peterborough, but with travel to network depots**

**Salary: £30,962 - £36,426 dependant on experience + a minimum of 7.5% increase in salary from 1st July 2023**

**The Opportunity**

In conjunction with the MyPeopleServices team the Trainer/Assessor will be responsible for the effective delivery of the employee learning cycle, ensuring that Cadent is operationally compliant with mandatory skills and competency

You will be the Subject Matter expert for all areas of technical and leadership training and ensure that the appropriate learning and development interventions are provided.

You will be delivering courses which meet varying business requirements and will involve partnering with external organisations at times to maximise delivery efficiency, effectiveness and quality.

**Role Accountabilities**
- Engagement with key stakeholder groups to identify business needs and priorities
- Utilise digital platforms and online learning methodologies to enhance training offering and delivery flexibility, whilst continually monitoring course effectiveness
- Delivering practical training and assessments for courses for direct labour and contractors either locally or at any of the Skills Development Centres, including End Point Assessments for Trailblazer schemes
- Undertaking direct supervision of the trainees whilst in training/assessment environment
- Where skills permit, undertake the internal verification and standardisation of assessments in association and collaboration with the Lead IQA (Competence & Quality Manager)
- Ensure the proper support for the learning environment is in place, including the oversight of facilities, tools & equipment, trainers and assessors
- Design and build practical areas to simulate realistic work environments to allow training and assessments to effectively be carried out. Ensuring that all assessments comply with the standards specified within our policies and procedures
- Taking responsibility for the Health, Safety and Environmental issues
- Maintaining effective referral processes, where individuals fail to meet the necessary assessment criteria and ensure that feedback is provided to the network to allow for risk mitigation actions to be put in place
- Seeking continuous improvements and innovative opportunities to implement new training solutions
- Supporting the Competence & Quality team with training product development, reviews, and updates as required
- Support communications across the organisation on training and assessments updates
- Undertake technical reviews on draft policies and procedures, and external qualifications
- Undertaking the compilation of portfolios of evidence using both electronic and paper-based systems to meet requirements defined by external bodies. Ensure that all assessments comply with the standards set by the Trailblazer, NVQ, QCF / awarding body, meets legal obligations and is in line with cadent policies and procedures
- Undertaking specific projects, as requested, to develop the competence of the Operations employees and to improve the effectiveness of the network operations
- Attend and participate in trainee’s Performance reviews, provide monitoring, recording and reporting of trainee’s progress
- Benchmark and engage external third parties to understand new innovative methods and best practice techniques, whether from a content or delivery perspective.

**What You’ll Bring**
- D32/33 or A1 (NVQ Level 4) AND/OR Teaching Qualification at L3
- Holds SCO 1,2,4&5 and IOSH
- Specialist technical knowledge of Electrical or Instrumentation or both
- Understanding of how training and assessments are implemented across the organisation
- Ability to understand policies and requirements and translate them into training
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a confident presenter
- Good networking, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Able to demonstrate and maintain their own expertise in relevant practical skills and underpinning knowledge
- Experience of undertaking Assessments, preparing and delivering training courses and working with and building Assessment Portfolios
- Ability to successfully prioritise and handle multiple tasks
- Specialist knowledge in leadership and soft skills training development and delivery
- Excellent knowledge and ability in the use of online and digital technologies to enhance training offering
- Strong decision making and time management skills
