MLAs are the first point of contact for the Laboratory therefore a friendly, approachable personality and excellent communication skills are essential.

The role includes pre-analytical sample sorting, preparation, data entry, receipt and maintenance of stock, attending to telephone queries from service users and adhering to health & safety responsibilities.

You should have good attention to detail, manual dexterity and the ability to follow defined protocols whilst working quickly and effectively under pressure. Experience of manually entering patient information quickly and accurately onto various laboratory computer systems, including Sunquest would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will be expected to work a 22.5hrs Part time contract working between 09:00 and 17:30 or 11:30 and 20:00 Monday to Sunday on a rostered shift pattern. In addition there is also the requirement to work public holidays where this may coincide with a rostered shift pattern.
