**Purpose of the Role**
At Community Furniture Stores we are a warm, fun, friendly bunch, enthusiastic about what we do. We are expanding our operations in order to better serve our community and are looking for a Charity Driver to join our team. You will be out on the van in and around Scarborough collecting items of furniture from people's homes and businesses to be sold at the store and delivering household items to a variety of properties.
As part of the warehouse and delivery team, you will also be working with the other porters, the drivers, and volunteers, to load and unload the van and with stock management within the warehouse. We pride ourselves in supporting our local community and providing a high-quality service to our clients. We serve some of the most vulnerable people in Scarborough, so tact and empathy are key qualities, but you get the satisfaction that you are making a real difference to your community.
**What we expect from you**:
- Safe and careful driving of a 3.5t van in and around the Scarborough/ Ryedale area
- Loading and unloading of customer deliveries and collection of donated items including heavy furniture items (manual handling training provided)
- Supporting the operations manager with stock management and movement within the warehouse and shop areas
- Providing excellent customer service when liaising with customers before and during deliveries and collections
- Cleaning of donated items using steam and other cleaners
- Flexibility to help in other areas of the store as required
**In return we can offer you**:
- Sociable working hours between 8am and 5pm Monday - Saturday (max 30 hours per week typically 7.5 hour days) in a friendly and supportive team
- Starting 28 days paid holiday inclusive of bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles) increasing with length of employment
- Permanent job contract
- All uniform and PPE provided free of charge
- No bank holiday or Sunday working
- Hourly Pay £11.54 per hour

**Job requirements**:
- Full clean driving license
- Aged 21 & over
- At least 3 years driving experience
- Will need to complete a DBS check
