**What is the Job Function?**

As part of the Education Team, based at Kibble’s Skills Academy in Hillington, and other external work bases, you will take a lead role in supporting young people to gain experience, knowledge and qualifications in trade skills with a focus on Horticulture.

**Main Duties**:

- To provide instruction in horticulture skills.
- To develop and maintain community gardens on Kibble’s campus in Paisley and Hillington
- To make appropriate use of crop sequence and continuity planning, plant propagation and transplanting, composting, manure and nutrient management, weed pest and disease control to ensure as far as possible that the garden is productive.
- To prepare course work / resource materials.
- To liaise with Education Manager in assessing, recording and reporting on the work of young people.
- To maintain and promote positive work ethics and standards amongst young people.
- To safeguard the health and safety of all young people and staff.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the Education Manager/Head Teacher.

**What qualifications and experience are we looking for?**
- Horticulturist with relevant trade experience and qualifications.
- Experience in youth training and working with young people is essential.
- GTCS registration is desirable, but not essential.
- Demonstrating a clear commitment to continuing professional development, for example, studying towards a qualification in or relating to additional support needs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possess a full driving licence and be willing and able to drive school transport.
