Gardener - Allotments and Greenhouse

Job Summary:
We are seeking an ethusiastic Gardener to join our team working on our community allotment at a hostel in Waterlooville. Pass on your skills to the residents and maintain 4 allotments as well as growing fruit and vegetables in our glasshouse. This role could suit an enthusiast home gardener or retired person looking for a flexible job. Ideally the 8 hours would be delivered over 2 days which could include weekends (but do not have to) and are open to discussion. Whilst the job is fixed for 6 months we have secured funding for next year as well.

The site works with specific people who are returning to the community after serving a prison sentence. A none judgemental attitude, empathy and compassion are vital. A full site induction and training will be given.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform general garden maintenance tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, and watering.
- Operate and maintain both power and hand tools necessary for gardening tasks.
- Implement landscape maintenance practices to ensure the health and vitality of plants.
- Assist in the growing and nurturing of various fruit and vegetable plant
- Undertake groundskeeping duties to keep outdoor areas tidy and visually appealing.
- Encourage residents and help them develop basic gardening skills

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
