An exciting opportunity is available to join the Greens team at Hornsea Golf Club. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Assistant Head Greenkeeper to work alongside our Course Director in maintaining our highly regarded golf course.

At Hornsea Golf Club, we are proud to celebrate our 125th year in 2023. With a thriving membership and a busy calendar of events, we have built an excellent reputation among both local and regional golfers. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we have recently invested into state-of-the-art machinery, initiated a bunker plan and recently commissioned a tree and ecology report through Bob Taylor one of the UKs leading ecological advisors. These initiatives will be integrated into our course progression plans, ensuring the continued growth and preservation of our course and its environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Course Director in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the golf course.
- Perform tasks such as mowing, edging, watering, and fertilising to maintain the course's optimal condition.
- Help implement and execute the course development plans, incorporating findings from the tree and ecology report.
- Operate and maintain equipment used in course maintenance.
- Monitor and manage pests, diseases, and weeds to ensure the health of the turf and landscape.
- Collaborate with the Greens team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support the Course Director in training and supervising other greenkeeping staff members.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the role of a greenkeeper.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices and turf management.
- Understanding of machinery and equipment used in course maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Qualifications in the use of chain saws and spraying.
- Familiarity with ecological considerations in golf course management.
- Experience with irrigation systems and their maintenance.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to greenkeeping.
