Due to continued growth the position of **Head of Early Careers and Learning** has become available to join our **successful team** based in **Maidenhead.**

This role is part of the Talent and Development leadership team which is accountable for ensuring that Costain has resilience in the skills and capabilities required both now and for the future. Using key levers such as the early careers pipeline, technical, professional and leadership development, career path frameworks and a strategic approach to talent management, the function is focused on supporting colleague engagement, retention and development outcomes. The Head of Early Careers and Learning will operate at a senior level within the Talent and Development Team, reporting to the Director of Talent and Development and liaising with senior stakeholders across the wider People function and the wider Costain Leadership Team. The role has responsibility for creating and embedding the relevant technical and professional development interventions to underpin current skills and competence and build future skills, as well as creating an early careers strategy to help position Costain as a destination employer.

This is a **hybrid role** with 2 days based at our Maidenhead office.

**Role Requirements**
- Subject matter expertise in L&D leadership for professional and skilled workforces coupled with broader HR generalist experience, or commercial experience.
- Experience of learning managing systems and adept at maximising technology to continuously improve the learning environment.
- Experience of working with professional institutes to assure competence, access professional development pathways and funding routes.
- Naturally curious, with a genuine desire to keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices and able to think in a practical way about how these might be applied within our context.
- Previous experience of leading teams and fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Comfortable challenging conventional thinking and with the ability to positively influence stakeholders.
- Flexible style, able to adapt to our multi-generational workforce.
