**Brief job description**:
Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a L4 Software Tester Apprentice with Proximity Insight, a retail tech start-up based in London.

This apprenticeship role is centred on the development, maintenance, documentation, and carrying out testing for both new and existing software, in close collaboration with the Product and Engineering teams. The role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and skill development in various aspects of software testing, including manual and automated testing across iOS and Android platforms.

**Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of**:

- Prioritise maintaining high standards in product quality assurance.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to comprehensively document requirements, enabling the engineering team to develop a high-quality product.
- Develop new test scripts and ensure existing ones are regularly updated to reflect current product specifications.
- Assist the wider team in conducting regression testing for new releases, focusing on areas not covered by automated tests.
- Actively contribute and participate in daily stand-ups and other team meetings.

**Maintaining Jira board/projects to**:

- Create new cards in the backlog for identified bugs.
- Ensure all cards assigned to oneself are picked up in a timely fashion.
- Actively contribute to documentation in Confluence.
- Monitoring feedback and QA outcomes.
- Work with QA Automation Engineers to gain an understanding of and ultimately contribute to the automated test framework.
- Work closely with the product team to enhance user experience, security, and stability, and offer recommendations for improving product quality and operational processes.

**Qualifications**:
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

- Is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintains efficient communication within the Product Department and wider team.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interaction skills.
- A willingness and motivation to learn.

**Future prospects**:
The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:

- Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
- Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
- Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
- Document and report test results.
- Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
