**Description**
- As Deputy Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our learners through:
- Supporting the Head of Department in all aspects of the department’s leadership and management, particularly around attendance, quality, teaching, learning and assessment and securing outstanding outcomes for all learners.
- Performance manage staff within the department and ensure that they develop their professional practice.
- Lead on curriculum development, including the development and validation of new programmes and the periodic review and re-validation of existing programmes.
- Ensure that learner retention, achievement, success and progression rates within the department exceed the national average year-on-year.
