**Civil Estimator - Environment**

**What you will be doing**:
An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Estimator to join the team at Galliford Try.

As a Civil Estimator, you will support the pre-construction activities for our current Framework Portfolio. The role will cover our Southern Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the South of England and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. At Galliford Try, we are committed to flexible and agile working and other work locations within South West Water Region may be considered.

Day-to-day, you will support the business through the submission of accurate and competitive tenders to satisfy the clients requirements and ensure the Company secures adequate new business to achieve targeted turnover and profit levels with appropriate year on year growth.

You will play a pivotal role within the Pre-Construction Team; it will be your responsibility to prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with colleagues in the Procurement Team in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.

Your role forms an essential link in the tender process, involving effective liaison and communication between the key stakeholders. You will attend tender finalisation meetings to present all relevant cost information in order to complete the tender. You’ll show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honesty.

You will play a primary role in the refining of analytical cost data, identifying and analysing opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders as well as producing risk registers, preliminary cost estimates and commercial documents for tender submissions.

**About You**:
Alongside your excellent influencing, negotiation, and delegation skills, you’ll be fully versed in critical analysis and possess robust decision-making skills.

In this role, a high level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge is key, it will be down to you to obtain sufficient quotations to enable valid commercial judgements at the tender finalisation meetings.

We’re seeking somebody with a strong understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications with knowledge of estimating processes using a computerised analytical estimating systems and experience in risk management techniques.
