An opportunity to join the Engineering & Maintenance senior leadership team reporting to the Chief Engineer for Sellafield Ltd. The Remediation value stream is responsible for the clean-up and remediation of our legacy facilities on the Sellafield site. This position is responsible for leading a large team of professional engineers and maintainers delivering services to a nationally important remediation programme of works.

Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and deliver operational plans which enable improvements in availability and reliability of equipment and systems to support the achievement of Sellafield objectives.
- Participate in the senior leadership team and contribute to the development of engineering and maintenance strategy which supports overall Sellafield mission.
- Carry overall responsibility for Engineering and Maintenance standards (Engineering Authority) ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations, standards and policies.
- Ensure the delivery of pragmatic, technically sound and fit for purpose engineering solutions to optimise facility performance.
- Develop medium and long-term workforce plans and take required action to develop appropriate engineering capability to meet engineering objectives.
- Represent Remediation to a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of activities to enable the effective delivery of engineering objectives.
- Grow collaborative partnerships with internal and external clients to drive improved performance and outcomes.
- Act as the key point of contact for regulators, ensuring that requests are appropriate and fulfilled in a timely manner, negotiating as required to ensure smooth and successful inspections.
- Act as an official representative of Sellafield Ltd, representing the organisation at external events and to external partners to drive policy and standard development.
- Identify opportunities for business wide improvements, working across the business to lead, develop and implement improvement solutions.

Knowledge & Experience
- Significant senior level engineering experience, providing depth and breadth of knowledge to act with credibility.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in a large complex organisation.
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholders internal and external to the business.
- Experience of leading large change programmes within a highly regulated environment.

Essential Skills
- Higher level qualification or equivalent training/experience in an engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable evidence of managing substantial operational budgets and defining the project portfolio.
- Proven experience of leading and implementing change programmes.
- Demonstrable experience of leading a large engineering organisation and being accountable for engineering standards and policies.

Desirable Skills
- Chartership status or potential to achieve chartership status with an accredited engineering institute.
- Demonstrable evidence of undertaking Leadership development.
