**Legal Secretary - Commercial Property**

**Location**: Alconbury, Huntingdon

**Salary**: £24,000 - £28,000

Cordius are recruiting for a Legal Secretary in Alconbury. Our client is a top 150 national law firm with five offices across the Midlands and East Anglia, this position is a great opportunity to work within their commercial property department.

**Purpose & Objective of Job**:
Fee earning activities relating to the provision of legal services to the firm’s clients. To meet performance targets as defined and to carry out other duties as determined by the Partners.

**Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with the collection and distribution of DX and post
- Opening and closing files
- Drafting of Contracts, Transfers and Mortgage Deeds
- Commissioning searches and reporting on the same
- Assisting in preparing property reports
- Dealing with clients in person and by telephone together with other professionals
- Taking and passing on messages in the absence of the relevant fee earner
- File maintenance
- Monitoring ledgers and assisting with accounts department regarding outstanding amounts
- Dealing with post completion matters

**Skills/Knowledge, Abilities and Personal Attributes Required**:

- Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent organisation skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to cope with a heavy and diverse workload
- Ability to handle pressure and to work to deadlines
