**Purpose**

The Operations Leader will work cross-functionally across the site and interact globally to assure that the business functions efficiently through product planning, sales, service, operations, finance and other segment leaders in support of their products. You will have direct reports within Engineering, Manufacturing and the Warehouse & logistics functions, who in turn are responsible for ensuring their departments run to peak output efficiency and performance. You will be able to plan and improve the performance of your responsible area’s where necessary in achieving the company’s strategic goals.

**Priorities and Objectives**

Specifically, the Operations Leader will lead three teams to meet their objectives of:

- Lead, manage, inspire and motivate their team in line with the applicable Safety, Quality and HR policies.
- Drive Customer satisfaction through improvement projects
- Create a high-performance workplace, drive cultural change and improvement built on organizational capabilities whilst achieve goals.
- Ensure operational objectives and results are achieved and communicated effectively to the senior team.
- Champion projects for the department and drive to completion.
- Maintain output and think ahead in a fluctuating environment.
- Ensure that operational processes are in line with applicable national, divisional and corporate guidelines, procedures, law and regulations.
- Drives internal and external collaboration when appropriate.
- Drive inventory accuracy and cost effectiveness in logistics & warehouse
- Drive Engineering & process improvement strategy to deliver cost benefits
- Leverage resource pool. - Ensure Project Cost Performance / ROI.
- Drive the reduction of Cost of Poor Quality / Warranty Costs.
- Partner with site leadership to lead the operations lean strategy.
- Analyze product & departmental performance on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with R & D and other sites to ensure operational readiness for new product introductions
- Deliver capital expenditure projects
- Understand the business, forces and trends that impact success and failure.

**Qualifications**
- Will ideally be of degree education in Science / Engineering
- Extensive experience in the Operations. (5 Years min)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

**Essential skills and Experience**
- Manufacturing Operations Management, time served experience of managing a team.
- Financial acumen, planning and reporting with strong analytical skills.
- Strong Continuous Improvement / Lean background
- Project Management - New product introductions and managing major projects
- Procedures, company rules, guidelines (national and international), law, rules & regulations, standards, safety, quality and environmental guidelines as far as applicable.
- Ability to travel within the UK and Globally.
- A flexible attitude to work, able to keep calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong technical acumen - the ability to look at the product or the capital equipment from a technical viewpoint and offer solutions and improvements.
- MRP/ERP systems knowledge.
