A position has become available for a Receptionist / Laboratory Assistant in a specialist poultry and game bird veterinary practice and laboratory. Sandhill was established 25 years ago and has recently moved to new, larger, modern premises allowing us the space for expansion.

**Objectives**

**Receptionist and admin duties including**:

- Greeting clients
- Answering the phone
- Diary management
- Postage duties
- Taking client payments
- Typing reports
- Data entry
- Booking out medicines
- Using our practice management system
- Any other jobs necessary to the running of the practice

**Laboratory assistant duties including**:

- Sample handling
- Bacteriology
- Microscopy
- Parasitology including faecal egg counting
- Assisting vets with post-mortem examinations
- Keeping the lab and PM room clean and tidy
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have the ability to prioritise tasks and complete them with attention to detail within a busy environment
- Have good IT skills
- Have a good telephone manner
- Have a friendly, positive attitude and good client skills
- Have a willingness to learn and the ability to follow protocols
